Due to several factors this year’s ROFN is later than normal but is now almost upon us. As in the last 2 years it will be held at our Cafe at the Eisteddfa Fisheries near Criccieth.
ROFN is now in it’s 12 year & to date has raised more than £125,000 (with the help of MSC Sportif organized by Ian Draisey). All monies we’ve raised go to Community Action Nepal who support rural villages by building & on going funding of Schools & Health Posts. Funds we raise this year are being used to help fund the building of a new Health Post in the village of Lihi where work is due to start post monsoon later this year. Local villagers are already gathering materials in preparation for this.
The Cafe will be opening at 8:00 am but things won’t really get going until 10:00 am. Below is the agenda with notes where appropriate:-

Now for more information on Paul’s Half Marathons:-
As some of you may know Paul has been suffering some foot problems for much of this year & these became worse upon his return from the Alps in early July to the effect that he hasn’t run now for well over two weeks. Despite this he has had an eye on his challenge for this year’s ROFN being running 7 marathons in 7 days for some time & has twice recce’d a prospective Half Marathon route which he would run twice daily from Sunday 2nd August to Saturday 8th August. He had acupuncture treatment earlier this week & whilst the issues are not resolved he has decided to at least start as planned & simply give up if the body & mind tell him it’s the only sensible option. Based on this he will run (or more likely walk) the first of these daily routes at 10:00 am & the second one at 2:00 pm. He would love to have support on any of these so if you are up for a slow run or long plod simply turn up when it suits you. John Rowell will be posting updates on Paul’s progress (or lack of it) on our Facebook site daily. A map of the route will also be posted. It is 13.25 miles long & has approximately 950 feet of ascent.
We hope you can take part in any way you can & remember if you can’t get to us you can always donate on our Just Giving page, thank you for viewing this post.
